1) What happens to all the left over food at the end of my event?
We (in most cases) are willing to wrap any food that is on the buffet table at the end of the event for the client, providing they have the proper means (hot boxes or coolers of ice) to safely store the food.
2) If I just want the BBQ dropped off and not fully catering will you do that?
Absolutly, we can provide just the BBQ or complete meals dropped off for your event. Your food will be ready to eat in disposable containers. All you will need is plates, utensils and serving ware.
3) Is there a minimum guest count people/charge for BBQ catering?
Well sort of, We can cater for small groups or do a drop off. What I can say is there is an increase in pricing if the guest count is under 50 people, we may be able to work with you in some cases. BBQ differs from other cooking in that the process and cooking times are much longer. For example 2 hours of prep time, 12 hours cook time, 4 hours on site time, 2 hours clean up time is a total of 20 hours of work to make a your BBQ great. We can do smaller events but the per person price may be higher for this reason.
4) What happens if it rains the day of our BBQ cookout?
In most cases rain will not effect our BBQ cooking, wind on the other hand may slow our cooking times and this is considered an "act of god". As far as your party we recommend tents or canopies in case of rain. They also provide great shade in hot weather. We can coordinate a tent rental of any size for a nominal fee, or refer you to a tent rental company. Otherwise you may want to have a back up plan for indoors.
5) What are your charges for children?
We have spent much time thinking about this question. Our current policy is the first 50 guests are billed at adult rates, after that any children under the age of 10 will be half price. We will gladly put a small amount of hot dogs on the pit for the little children at no charge if requested.
6) Our uncle has a few family recipe's and wants to cook all of the sides himself will you cook just the meats?
Sorry but due to insurance regulations we can not serve food at the event other than food we prepare.
7) How do I reserve your BBQ catering services for my event?
Give us a call and we'll discuss the many BBQ menu options. Once you decide what you would like we will draw up a contract and the signed contract with a $250.00 deposit secures your date and time.
8) I am going to invite 100 guests but I'm not sure how many guests will show up, how many guests do I have to pay for if less show up?
We price, prepare and cook for the amount of guests you tell us, our charges are for the confirmed guest count or actual guest count if greater than the confirmed count. For instance you book us to serve 125 guests 6 months before the event, we will call about 10 days prior to the event to get the "Confirmed" head count. This confirmed count is the amount you pay for. If you confirmed 100 guests and 75 guests show up you pay for 100 guests, but if 125 guests show up you will pay for 125 guests plus we can not guarantee food for more than the confirmed guest count.
9) I see your pricing says per person while other barbecue caterers say per plate. Is there a difference?
Yes there is a difference. Our "Per Person" pricing is exactly that. We supply more than fair amount of food and your guests serve themselves buffet style and if they would like to come back for a second plate that is fine with us. While it is not "all you can eat" we have never run out of food and every guests appetite has always been fulfilled.
Now for the barbecue caterer pricing "Per Plate" this usually means they will serve you cafeteria style with portion control plating. If you have 100 guests and half of them come back for a second plate you pay for 150 plates. So for example if we price you $12.50 Per Person and another barbecue caterer prices you $10.00 Per Plate unless you restrict guests to one plate the Per Plate caterers price could end up to be $15.00 Per Person if half the guests go back for seconds. If you have a few big boys eating three plates each that would be $30 for each of those big boys.
